Fridges, washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters — out of the basement, not just off the curb.
The new appliance gets delivered, and the delivery crew either won't take the old one or charges more than the haul is worth. Now there's a dead fridge in the garage.
Ty takes appliances one at a time or by the houseful, and gets them out of wherever they actually are rather than requiring them at the curb.
Water and gas lines need to be shut off and disconnected before the appointment. For a gas range or a gas water heater, that means a plumber — Ty hauls, he doesn't disconnect gas, and that's the right answer from anybody you hire.
An electric dryer or a fridge you can simply unplug is no problem. If you're not sure which you've got, describe it on the phone and he'll tell you.
Water heaters live in garages and closets. Chest freezers live in basements. A side-by-side fridge does not fit back through the doorway it came in through without the doors coming off, and it's full of water it will leave on your floor.
That's all normal. It's what the appointment is for.
Fridges, freezers, and window AC units contain refrigerant and can't just go in a pile at the dump. They get handled separately from the rest of the load.
Ty's rule on the whole trailer is the same one he gave us in writing: everything is secured, covered, and properly disposed of.
An old water heater, a dead dryer, a stack of TVs, and a bin of cables can all go in the same trip as everything else. No separate appointment, no separate quote.
Car and industrial batteries are the exception — those can't ride, and neither can fluorescent tubes.
Pricing
Ty doesn't run a published rate card, and he doesn't charge by the hour while you watch the clock. A price depends on three things: how much room it takes in the trailer, how heavy it is, and whether it's a flat quote for the whole job.
You get that number free — over the phone, or on site if it's easier — before anything gets loaded. It doesn't move afterwards. No surprise fees once the trailer's full, which is the part most people have been burned on before.
